Victor K.W. Wei received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1976, and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii in 1980. From 1980 to 1983 he was with the Mathematics Research Center of Bell Labs, Murray Hill, New Jersey, USA. From 1984 to 1994 he was with Bellcore, Morristown, New Jersey, USA. He was the Director of the Communication and Computation Principles Research Group from 1987 to 1993. He joined the Department of Information Engineering of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1994. Victor placed first in the Taiwan Joint Entrance Examination for Universities and Colleges in 1972. He is an IEEE Fellow, and listed as among the top 250 most cited computer scientists in the world by ISIHighlycited.com.
