Prof. P.C. Wong received all his degrees, BSc, MPhil, and PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has published over 40 papers, has acquired over 60 million HKD funding, and accomplished several successful projects. They include MAGNET – a Medical Imaging Network linking hospitals, VIOLA – a Video-on- Demand system on Local Area Networks, and Hong Kong School Net – an Internet for schools in Hong Kong. School Net won the IT Application Award in 1998 and VIOLA won two US patents and the IT Excellence Award in 1999.
Since 1998, Prof. Wong led the Hong Kong Cyber Campus project to offer leading edge Internet services to over 800 schools in Hong Kong. In 2000, Prof. Wong worked with the HKSAR Government to develop the Hong Kong Education City, which quickly became the flagship education portal in Hong Kong.
Prof. Wong is active in community services. He is now a committee member of Quality Education Fund and Home-School Cooperation. In 2001, Prof. Wong was awarded the Medal of Honor for his contributions to IT in education.
