A Comprehensive Exposure
The programme has a strong emphasis on ICT technology and management. Its curriculum comprises both lectures and practical workshops in the field of fundamental information and communication technology, as well as the specialized fields including:
A Professional Network
The programme also emphasizes on students’ interaction with regional and International ICT leaders. Our ICT Leaders Seminar Series provide students with opportunity to interact with local and international ICT leaders. The MSc Student and Alumni Association and the Information Engineering Alumni Association are existing network that has been built among the current students and thousands of IE alumni. Special Interest Groups in various fields of specialization are formed. Students can opt to join at most two groups and exchange the state-of-the-art knowledge with professors and ICT leaders within the groups.
A flexible Study Plan
The curriculum consists of courses offered by the Department of Information Engineering as well as other departments under Faculty of Engineering. The MSc degree is awarded to students who complete a total of eight graduate courses (3 unit each), up to three of which could be courses from other MSc programmes within the Faculty of Engineering, CUHK. Students can opt to complete their study in two or three tri-semester academic years. All lectures are facilitated by eLearning technologies. In order to allow students to arrange their study hours more flexibly, for selected courses, a portion (around 25%) of traditional face-to-face classroom instruction will be replaced by online learning.
An Enjoyable Learning Experience
The MSc in Information Engineering is great fun! The programme provides a wide range of activities such as the annual Welcome Dinner and various gatherings for students and staffs. In 2007/2008, the programme will sponsor more student community events to cover expense on drinks and other after class leisure activities.
