UGC Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme
The Hong Kong University Grants Council (UGC) has recently announced a fellowship scheme to attract the best students from all over the world to pursue their graduate studies in Hong Kong.

Admission Requirements for MPhil-PhD Programme
Applicants should satisfy the following requirements:
- graduated from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer / Information / Electronic or related engineering and science fields, normally with honors not lower than Second Class; or
- graduated from an honors programme of a recognized university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer / Information / Electronic, or related engineering and science fields, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "B" in undergraduate courses; or
- completed a programme of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honors degree.
All applicants should fulfill the English Language Proficiency Requirement before they are admitted:
- possess a pass grade in AS Level English, or
- have a degree from a university in Hong Kong or an English-speaking country, or
- submit one of the following scores for assessment: TOEFL (550), GMAT (Verbal), College English Test (CET-6) of PRC, IELTS (6.5), or the equivalent.
Remark: Bachelor’s degree holders are welcome to apply to the PhD stream of the programme. A master’s degree is not necessary. On the other hand, master’s degree holders may take shorter time to obtain the PhD degree.
