We are delighted to share that our 2022-23 PhD graduate, Dr. Yuze He, supervised by Professor Guoliang Xing and co-supervised by Professor Zhenyu Yan, has been awarded the ACM SIGBED Paul Caspi Memorial Dissertation Award.
Established in 2013 by ACM SIGBED (Special Interest Group on Embedded Systems), this award is the highest honor recognizing exceptional doctoral dissertations that make significant scientific contributions to the field of embedded systems. It commemorates the pioneering legacy of Dr. Paul Caspi, a visionary researcher whose work profoundly influenced the discipline.
Dr. He’s PhD thesis, titled “Leveraging Infrastructure to Enhance Perception and Scene Understanding for Autonomous Driving,” introduces the first infrastructure-assisted approach for autonomous vehicles validated through large-scale real-world deployments. Her innovative research has made important advances in enhancing the perception and safety capabilities of autonomous driving systems.
Dr. He’s work has previously garnered several prestigious recognitions, including:
- Best Community Contribution Paper Award, ACM MobiCom 2023
- Best Artifact Award, ACM MobiCom 2024
- Gold Prize, 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva
Congratulations to Dr. He on this remarkable achievement, which brings international recognition to both her outstanding research and the department’s excellence in cutting-edge innovation.
