The Department of Information Engineering (IE) has multiple tenure track faculty openings at the level of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. In particular, we are looking for strong candidates in the systems area which covers the design and implementation of networking/ distributed systems, cloud, fog and edge-computing, Internet of Things, platforms/ infrastructure for big data analytics and large-scale machine learning. We are also eagerly seeking new faculty in the areas of AI, machine learning, deep learning, and data science. Outstanding candidates in other areas of information engineering who complement/ supplement our existing strength in communication systems and information theory will also be considered. Technician / Probationary Technician – (2400001R)

The Department of Information Engineering (IE) is looking for a strong candidate to work in the Hardware Technical Team.
The appointee will (a) prepare equipment, materials and documents for the laboratory courses; (b) provide guides and instructions to the students in operating the equipment during laboratory sessions (shift work is required during normal laboratory sessions); (c) purchase equipment (applies to Technician only), components and hardware materials for the laboratory; (d) manage the laboratory and take care of equipment in good condition including routine check-up, maintenance and repair; (e) design tools and teaching kits for the courses (applies to Technician only); and (f) participate in activities held by the Department.
For the post of Technician, applicants should have/be (i) a Diploma/Certificate in Electronic or Information Engineering or equivalent plus 3 years’ post-qualification relevant experience in the field of electronics or communications; OR a Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate in Electronic/Information Engineering or relevant disciplines from a recognised university or technical institute; and (ii) familiar with (1) Analog, Digital and communication circuit design; (2) microprocessors, such as STM32 and ESP32; and (3) C programming language. Knowledge of computer networking is preferred.
For the post of Probationary Technician, applicants should have/be (i) a Diploma/Certificate in Electronic/Information Engineering or relevant disciplines from a recognised university or technical institute; and (ii) familiar with microprocessors and C programming language.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
