Prof. Guoliang Xing’s Team Wins the Best Community Contributions Award at MobiCom 2023

We are excited to share that Prof. Guoliang Xing’s team has won the Best Community Contributions Award at MobiCom 2023 for their paper titled “VI-Map: Infrastructure-Assisted Real-Time HD Mapping for Autonomous Driving”. The award recognizes the work that contains “intellectually exciting ideas, combined with a substantive contribution in computer code, experimental data, or other artifacts deemed useful to the research community at large”. The first author of the paper is Yuze He, who was co-supervised by both Prof. Zhenyu Yan and Prof. Guoliang Xing.

MobiCom is the number one conference on wireless networking and systems research. This award marks another milestone of the smart lamppost and autonomous driving project that Prof. Guoliang Xing and Raymond started about four years ago. Last year, their work on this project also won the Best Paper Runner-up Award at MobiCom. The team takes immense pride in the accomplishments of their students and their dedication to pushing the boundaries of research in the field of wireless systems and autonomous driving.
